Welcome to Day 5 of our Purity Challenge! How are things so far?
Following along with our theme for this month, this week’s key verse will be Jeremiah17:9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?” Whenever we have an important decision to make we always hear others tell us to “follow our heart”. How can follow something that the bible tells us is “deceitful”? How can we follow something that ebbs and flows with our emotions? When we are lead by our emotions, we are bound by our emotions. We are to spirit-led in every thing that we do, including career choices, romantic relationships and friendships. Allowing the spirit to lead us cuts down on confusion allows room for sound decision.
The next time someone suggests that you “follow your heart”, tell them you would rather follow the Spirit. His decision-making is SO much better.
