I AM Challenge Week 3: WANTED

Hello iWaited Family! **imagine me waving frantically at you 🙂

Last week we talked about being LOVED by our Father. If you missed it, you can click on these 3 links:

Week 2 Day 1

Week 2 Day 2

This week’s word is: WANTED

Wanted: To have a strong feeling to have (something/someone); wish (to possess or do something); desire greatly

Ephesians 1: 4-8 says: For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he[b] predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding

Now let’s read it in the Classic Amplified version: Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [[b]because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]—[So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence)

Note: I read passages of scripture in several versions when I’m reading the word and I also do word studies and read commentaries (Matthew Henry commentary is one of my favorites)

Now you don’t have to do all of that but it helps me to get a better understanding of what I’m reading.

Ok, so back to the challenge :).

The bible constantly mentions how God foreknew us, He predestined us, He consecrated us to Himself. God made a conscious decision to pull us into His world. He CHOSE us as it mentions in verse 4. The word chose means to select from a number of possibilities; pick by preference. God has a preference and YOU ARE IT! Isn’t that amazing? In verse 5 it says God foreordained (planned out in love) for us to be adopted into His family. His plan for our salvation was done in love. He shows how He wants us in how much He loves us. He shows how much He wants us in how much He planned this all out in order to win our affections. I’m going to keep reiterating this–The GOD of the universe longs to commune with YOU and ME! He WANTS YOU! He WANTS ME!

There is a freedom and a rest that can only come from God. Rest from striving. Rest from trying to prove that you’re worthy of love or being wanted. Rest from the constant anxiety of what’s going to happen next. You don’t have to worry about your future because your Father has it all planned. It’s your job to walk out your purpose daily, commune with Him daily so that you can know His will for your life.

You don’t have to put on for God to want you. You don’t have to do anything to get Him to notice you. Rest in Him today (Hebrews 4:9-11)

So for today, your assignment is to read the entire chapter of Ephesians 1, study the word Wanted and ask Holy Spirit to give you a deeper understanding of what it means to be Wanted by God.

Love y’all!
