The NASB version says, “But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3
I’ve said this several times to friends, the Gospel is just too simple for some people. For some people they just don’t understand how they don’t have to give blood, sacrifice animals and pledge their firstborn child in order to be saved. God made it easy so that all would be saved, because that’s truly His desire (1 Timothy 2:3-4). Believe it or not, God is not this taskmaster that wants you to jump through hoops in order to gain salvation. He simply asks that you believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose on the 3rd day and ascended to heaven and is coming back for us. He asks that your devotion to Him be undivided, as in no OTHER gods or idols.
That’s it. Seems pretty simple to me. What are your thoughts?
